Story of mybuilderrated.com
I would like to personally thank you for visiting this site today. The idea of MyBuilderRated.com first crossed my mind last year after I had been living in a newly constructed house for a few months and noticed I was having more than my share of problems with my new home. My entire life I have been around Real Estate and managed family property, yet for some reason the first home purchase shortly after graduating college required more work and care than some properties I’d managed that were over 100 years old. I quickly learned the reason for this was because my builder, in the rush of the recent Real Estate boom hastily constructed my house and cut a lot of corners.
Throughout the first part of the year, I had to tackle squeaky steps, dead shrubbery, unsanitary water, doors that wouldn’t close properly, and even vinyl siding which didn’t want to stay on my house among other things. I do not feel that most homeowners share as many problems that I had encountered however this gave me that idea that there should be a community forum to discuss the “little” things that no one else will tell us. This gave me the MyBuilderRated.com idea!
With this in mind I set out in early 2006 to establish a web-based site where homeowners and potential homebuyers could discuss issues in an open, community forum. I hope this site serves the purpose you need and if you have any questions or can thing of any improvements please email me at spantazes@mybuilderrated.com. I am always looking for ways to improve this site and help my fellow homeowners use whatever tools are out there to make a smart decision. After all, for a majority of us, this home will be our largest investment and we need to educate ourselves.
